After disbanding over sixteen years ago, the original members of Unruly Child have reunited to produce a brand new album entitled, “Worlds Collide.”Undoubtedly one of the most thrilling comebacks for a melodic hard rock band this year, “Worlds Collide” is essential for new and old fans alike. The band has brought their sound to 2010 without alienating loyal fans. Don’t miss them if you like Foreigner, Journey, or Bon Jovi. ¡ Marcie Free Still Rockin´ !
Lightning Strikes Twice is a very strong Melodic Rock album that should satisfy Nelson fans, as well as fans of classic 80´s style Melodic Rock in general, it´s a very polished, very Melodic and extremely well written album that showcases two of the best performers of the genre.
¡ Great Melodic Pop/Rock AOR oriented album from this Australian singer !, a bunch of songs with great melodic rhythmns, amazing powerful voice, catchy songs, beautiful melodies and of course a perfect sound production.
Fire Flight blends elements of orchestral and progressive metal together with a huge dose of melodic rock, fronted by the magnificient voice of Goran Edman (Malmsteen, Street Talk...) and filled with generous melodies with catchy hooks, clear soaring lead vocals bolstered by ambitious vocal harmonies, sizzling guitar solos, and rich keyboard layers for accent or atmosphere. ¡Strong debut album!
¡ A true great Hard/AOR album from this Japanese band !, with Nobuo Yamada (Make-Up) on vocals. a release with lots of feeling, beautiful melodies, good songs and a great production. ¡80´s classic!.
Brazilian drummer Heleno Vale brings his second installment of the Soulspell metal opera Labyrinth of Truths. With the international success of the first part, A Legacy of Honor, Vale received some important recognition and so some help from some significant metal players. Jon Oliva [Jon Oliva’s Pain, Savatage], Roland Grapow [Masterplan,Helloween], Zak Stevens [Circle II Circle, Savatage] and Germán Pascual [ex. Narnia] have come on board to offer their well-known talents. Following its debut Labyrinth of Truths continues its ambitious focus on strong melodic heavy and power metal. Using words like grand, epic or majestic are not wasted on Vale's project.
Mikael Erlandsson returns with his sophomore release Heart of the Machine. The Last Autumn's Dream vocalist continues the path tread on Toy Soldier. Actually, the music hear could easily have been the second of a two disc set on the former release or simply the songs that didn't make it (simply because he had too many). Nevertheless, this is standard Erlandsson/LAD fare: nearly immaculate, persuasive, and entertaining melodic rock from a true master.
¡ Fuckin´great 7th album from this Japan Hard Rockers !, a perfect mix between old Hard Rock style and 80´s Heavy Metal. A record with great guitar driving rhythmns , strong production, catchy choruses, ultra melodic songs and the amazing and personal voice of Manabu Takaya.¡Keep On Rockin´!
HolyHell is a female-fronted Power Metal band from the United Stated and this is their self-titled debut. The band has all the elements that you want in a band from the genre: soothing voice, good musicianship and solid songs. The band has good great players starting with their singer Maria Breon. Her voice is soothing and melodic, you'll be satisfied with her performance as long as you don't expect super high notes. The rhythm section is very good, led by Jay Rigney (bass) and Kenny Earl "Rhino" Edwards (drums, and former Manowar member). Nevertheless, to me their pair of guitarists Thomas Hess and Joey Stump are the stars of the record. Both of them contribute a lot to the songs and while the riffs are unspectacular. ¡Strong dark Album!
¡ Let´s back to Heavy Metal !, This is an absolutely amazing 2 Cd album compilation from the Japanese Band Seikima, 25 songs full of true Metal with great keyboard introductions, destroyer guitar rhythmns, thundering pounding drums, infernal voice passages, hooks, majestic heavy choruses, superb metal melodies and solos, and the unbelievable voice of Demon Kogure. An amazing Metal album of mass destruction. ¡ Thumbs up for the infernal demons of the empire of the rising sun !
¡ First Zard album !,Great Japanese band with japanese lyrics with little touches of English, a mix between Jp-Rock, Pop and a little touches of Melodic AOR, a release filled with tons of feeling, great melodic guitar rhythmns, fantastic keyboard work, catchy melodies, vibes and the awesome vocals of Izumi Sakai. if you give him an opportunity, sure you find something good here.
A great melodic hard rock record – no more no less. Perfectly produced by Mike Slamer, who adds enough bells and whistles to make it interesting and sometimes challenging to the general ethos of what a melodic rock record should sound like. However, every note on this album was written and recorded to please the fans and I believe they have done that with some outstanding songs and inspired performances. Terry Brock adds backing vocals, which give the harmonies even more depth. A brilliant album that will please just about everybody.
Eric Martin's talents as a vocalist and a songwriter have been highly evaluated since his solo debut back in 1985, and this was even before he joined the super rock band, MR BIG. The year 2010 marks his 25th Anniversary as a solo singer, and Sony Music Japan International will release his new compilation album "Love Is Alive 〜Works of 1985-2010〜"on September 8th. The album includes 14 songs - 7 songs highlighting Eric's 25 years of his magnificent career in the music business, plus 3 brand new songs and 3 rare bonus tracks. ¡ Amazing album ! |
